His Part

CoMission

our part: make disciples
his part - bookends the mission

*To Send
His plan, done under His Authority;

to be under authority motivates
to be under authority frees - no worry

John 20:21 “just as the father has sent me, I also send you”

John 10:11-16 I have other sheep also

you can have authority in this area - it doesn’t have to be something you are inadequate in (1 Timothy 4:12)

*To Encourage
we aren’t alone or on our own
The Power of Prayer in Mission

Prayer brings us together (it’s a whole lot harder to be mad at someone if you spent your morning praying for them)
• pray reminds us of the spiritual nature of our lives (how sad is it if we only stop to pray when we need something as if every moment isn’t a moment that is God ordained and full of His provision)

prayer shows where our trust is, involves the Lord in the details of our lives
prayer shows Biblical depth - God-centered, Christ exalting prayer

often patterns of superficial communication spill over into our talks with God - we use well worn lines recited for decades...or quickly toss up a few words and call it prayer - GOD HEARS ALL THIS, no doubt, but by limiting the depth of our conversation, we become shallow

What do we pray for?
1. Opportunity
2. Kingdom
3. Courage

What are some specific things Jesus has authority over?

How can the authority that is yours in Christ give you confidence to be part of the discipleship process in another believer’s life?

What do you need to learn to be better prepared to share the Gospel?

What is the most common thing you pray about? What can you add to your prayer that acknowledges the Mission?
